Designer Profile

My name is Katie Cosmo and I am a Designer and Illustrator based in Manchester, UK. I am a creative soul and love getting stuck into a project where I can use and develop my creative skills. I am passionate about illustration and love creating characters and worlds and communicate narrative visually. Therefore, one of my main passions is children's book illustration. My experiences have also led me to a love for design, and developing fresh concepts for surface pattern for products in particular has become one of my favourite types of projects.

I mainly work digitally although I do like to combine traditional techniques such as pencil work and watercolour and I often find I get the most interesting results when blending the two.

​

I would describe my style as contemporary with a touch of whimsy, and I enjoy adding fun and unique elements as well as a story behind what I am creating. I am inspired by nature, animals and travel and I always find new places and experiences spark ideas and concepts. I also love to craft, which often weaves it's way into my design and illustration projects and adds another dimension to what I am creating.
